Roam
Welcome to being a lonely member of a group.
We are the hero of our own individual fantasies. When we daydream, we roam in the world of our fantasies. Outwardly we might be next to each other, needing each other, yet inwardly, we harbor these private spaces. we are sociable lonely creatures existing together in the physical world, yet drifting separately in our spiritual world.
Roam in Meng-Hua
Modern people tend to vent their emotions on the Internet, thinking that they are enough to hide from the real world.
The Internet knows our secrets. Our private actions and information are transparent in the digital world. However, transparency and availability do not grant this information importance, as we live in a world where the amount of information is exploding. We have become a small part of a giant lump of data - transparent, obvious yet invisible. We are like the billboard at a prime location, placed on high yet no one cares.
Words and deeds in this world are actually under the watchful eye of the universe. The gaze of the Internet on people who vent their emotions and secrets in the online world is just like the gaze of the dragon and phoenix on people in the work. In ancient China, the dragon and the phoenix are symbols of the highest status in people's hearts, representing the universe.
In Roam, what people stand on is not the earth, but Mars. Mars has a complex trajectory in the sky, and it emits fluorescence like fire, so it was called "Yinghuo" in ancient China, which means glowing fire and confusion. The use of Mars in Roam is also a metaphor for the state of confusion and chaos in people's hearts when they escape and vent in the virtual network.
